1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help us remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and understand how you use our platform. LedgNity also uses localStorage for persistent data storage on your device.

2. How We Use Cookies

LedgNity uses cookies and similar technologies in four categories. When you first visit our platform, a cookie consent banner allows you to choose which categories to accept. Essential cookies are always active and cannot be disabled.

4. Cookie Storage

Your cookie consent is stored in three locations:

  • localStorage: Primary storage on your device under the key ledgnity_cookie_consent
  • Browser cookie: Fallback storage, expires after 365 days, SameSite=Strict
  • Firebase: Synced to your account when logged in, so your preferences follow you across devices

5. Managing Your Preferences

You can manage your cookie preferences at any time:

  • Cookie banner: Appears on your first visit with options to Accept All, Customize, or select Essential Only
  • Cookie settings button: Available in the bottom-right corner when no consent has been given
  • Browser settings: You can clear cookies through your browser settings at any time

Disabling functional or AI cookies may affect your experience — for example, your theme and language preferences may not be remembered between visits.

6. Third-Party Cookies

Some third-party services integrated with LedgNity may set their own cookies:

  • Firebase (Google): Authentication cookies for secure login
  • Stripe: Payment security cookies during checkout
  • Plaid / TrueLayer: Session cookies during bank account connection

These cookies are governed by the respective third-party privacy policies. We do not control their content or duration.
